Katie Cassidy Actress Bio
Date/Place of Birth: November 25th, 1986; Los Angeles, California
Brief Bio: Katie Cassidy was born into talent, as they say; her father, David Cassidy, was a pop star in the 1970s, and her mother, Sherry Williams, was fashion model royalty around the same time. Katie has two older sisters, Jenna and Jaime. As a child, she was a jack-of-all-trades and master of many: She played the piano and guitar, sung, took gymnastics, dancing, and acting lessons, then became a cheerleader for the California Flyers. During her high school career Katie modeled for Abercrombie and Fitch.
“I was in theater when I was in elementary, middle school and high school. I didn’t know it would be an actual profession for me. I didn’t think of it as a reality.”
Katie Cassidy is a multitalented and charming individual, known for her performances in several incredibly popular TV series. You may know her as Ruby the manipulative demon from Supernatural (2007-2008), Juliet Sharp from Gossip Girl (2010-2012), or Laurel Lance from Arrow (2012-2015), but regardless of where you’ve seen her, you’ve surely recognized the earnest effort she puts into her roles.
“I try mainly to just focus on character and what my character’s point of view is, with each person, and try to figure out story.”
In 2014, Katie took the role of the DID afflicted Suki in John Suit’s movie adaptation of Dan Schaffer’s comic The Scribber. In an interview with Collider, she goes in-depth about her extensive preparation and adaptation of Dan Schaffer’s Suki. It’s worth a read, as it conveys her desire to play a variety of character rather than being typecasted.
