Jennifer Lawrence Actress Bio
Date/Place of Birth: August 15th, 1990; Louisville, Kentucky, USA
Brief Bio: Jennifer Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 15th, 1990. Her parents are Karen (Koch), a manager at a children’s camp, and Gary Lawrence, a construction worker. She has two older brothers named Ben and Blaine.
Over the course of her childhood, Jennifer dabbled in cheerleading, field hockey, modeling, and softball, though she never developed a lasting taste for any of them. At 14, she traveled to Manhattan where she blew talent agents away by conducting an outstanding cold read, one that was described as “the best cold read by a 14-year-old they had ever heard.” She was urged to spend summer in Manhattan, but soon after encountered another agent while shooting and H&M ad and agreed to participate in another cold read audition. The reaction was the same; the agents urged her to spend summer in New York City. Thus did her career blossom.
After a flurry of minor roles in commercials and humbler films, she hit it off big with the role of Ree in the 2010 film Winter’s Bone, earning herself an Academy Award and several Golden Globe nominations. She went on to play Mystique in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class, a franchise reboot that turned into a real summer hit. Her claim to fame, however, was securing her role as Katniss Everdeen in the 2012 film adaptation of The Hunger Games, the first in an incredibly popular and notoriously brutal series of books by Suzanne Collins. She would then go on to act in the many sequels as well, turning her from a rising starlet to an A-lister in no time at all.
